You can actually do both to multiply the positive effect for your brain. Here’s a step-by-step guide that will help you to navigate toward greater neuroplasticity.
1. First is choosing the drum. If you never played any musical instrument before, we recommend you to check the section of steel drums for beginners in our online store before you buy one. 2. Get acquainted with your RAV drum. Improvise a little, get an overview of each note and their combinations. There’s no need to start playing songs and symphonies at this step, just give yourself some space to get connected to the instrument.
3. Learn to play some basic meditation and sound healing rhythms. Set yourself a goal to learn one pattern a day and practice it. Set up a daily notification about your RAV session. This will help to stay consistent in developing your neuroplasticity.
4. Now you are ready to start a sound healing/meditation session with your RAV drum. The best option is to schedule it for late evening or just before you go to bed. This will help to set yourself up for a good and relaxed sleep and replace your usual smartphone routine with a healthier ritual.
A secret to a good meditation is mindfulness. To reach this special state you need to distract your mind from thoughts by keeping it busy with some easy and repetitive task.
