The felt top has the softest touch and gives 100% of the note itself without the sound of a strike, while the smaller felt top is something between these two mallets. The RAV Mallets make the RAV Vast sound less percussively and make the instrument voice clearer, sonorous and bell-alike. Play two similar mallets or experiment with using 2 different tops at a time.
