RAV Galaxy C Golden Deep

Galaxy is a tank drum, which is a new type of instrument in the RAV collection, so first we would like to tell you what kind of instrument it is. A tank drum is a small steel tongue drum that starts its history back in 2007 in Spain. Felle Vega, a Spanish percussionist, created the first prototype from a propane tank. It had just a few petals cut on its bottom but already had an enchanting cosmic sound.

Today our Galaxy tank drum is manufactured at a highly technological production site with the use of the newest equipment. It is designed from 3 mm thick steel and covered in anti-rust coating which provides a life-long safety of the drum. There is a bottom onlay made from birch plywood that helps to maintain the instrument still while you are playing. The small size and weight makes the drum compact enough to keep at your bed table, work desk or carry with you wherever you go.

Galaxy C Golden Deep is a major scale that was inspired by C Golden Gate and B Golden Arcadia scales that can be found in our RAV Vast collection. C Golden Deep is relative to the Lydian scale, which is very popular in guitar music, containing similar notes (C4-G4-C5-D5-E5-F5-G5-B5). Thanks to the good positioning of the notes, The C Golden Gate has a lot of unique dyads and triads available on it that other scales can not offer. This tank drum creates a very positive, cheerful but calm atmosphere. While playing you can find yourself thinking of one of your happiest days of the past, or how you played with your pet when a teenager or just sitting quietly with a peaceful smile just because you love your life. In this sense C Golden Deep resembles B Golden Arcadia scale – it is poetic and even nostalgic, but without the feeling of melancholy.

For whom this scale will work

The main advantage of the RAV Galaxy tank drum is that it can be played by any person, regardless of age or gender. But we especially recommend it for newbies that are about to get acquainted with music or amateurs that are looking for a fresh sound. One can start playing it right after unpacking! The instrument doesn’t require extra tuning or music theory knowledge. Just start tapping the notes, and you will get a lovely harmonious melody.

Our engineers managed to create the instrument’s crystal clear sound, sonorous timbre and deep sustain (deep for an average tank drum) which makes it sound as close as possible to a RAV Vast. What is more, you get access to pre-recorded workshops where you will learn how to combine notes, create a rhythm and other useful tips. Galaxy   C Golden Deep can also be used as a music therapy tool. The instrument produces tranquil, soothing sound which helps to fulfill the main role of music therapy − to decrease frustration, manage stress, lower anxiety and purify emotions. So you can either include it in your morning routine to prepare for a banging day, or leave it for the evening when you can relax and refill your energy tank.
